A Gift from the Heart
Some paintings are created to decorate a room. Others are created to preserve a memory.
This portrait of Zoe was painted as a surprise gift for our dear friends, Paul and Meredith, after the loss of their faithful companion.
Zoe wasn't simply a pet—she was a beloved member of their family. Karen wanted to capture not only Zoe's likeness, but also the gentle personality that made her so special.
To preserve the surprise, the painting remained private until it could be personally delivered.
The Journey
Every painting begins with the first layer of color and a vision of what it may become.
In the early stages, only the atmosphere existed. The story had yet to unfold.
Layer by layer, Zoe's familiar expression emerged—the relaxed face, the little tongue peeking out, and the peaceful look her family knew so well.
The Best Part
The greatest reward wasn't finishing the painting.
It was seeing Paul and Meredith's smiles when they received it.
